Fenstanton 3-0 Cottenham United Reserves
A mediocre performance was enough for Fenstanton to overcome Cottenham United Res 3-0.
Only one change this week with ‘Relic’ Scott Morrison replacing Ryan Hunt in central midfield.
Fenstanton started well and were unlucky not to be ahead in the opening minutes, wasting a few good half chances, but were lucky to still be on level terms with Cottenham coming close with a couple free kicks.
Fenstanton eventually went ahead when Ben Fuller flicked on for Ben Hall, who crossed for Salv Merola to tap in for his first goal of the game.
Fuller should have doubled Fenny’s lead, latching on to a punt upfield by Adam Buckingham, but the White Drogba blazed over.
There was no second half masterclass which we are used to this week, just a bang average performance, with Paul Street clearing off the line 3 times, as Fenstanton rode their luck a bit.
Adam Berrill continued his hot streak and scored yet again just after half time, but Fenny suffered a set back when Ben Fuller went off injured, and Fenstanton didn’t look the same without a target man up top.
With Cottenham starting to press Fenstanton, Salv Merola bagged his second of the game to confirm the victory, scuffing in from a wide position.
