Littleport Res 3 - 6 Fenstanton ResOctober 7, 2007 on 8:22 pm | In Reserve Team Match Reports | No CommentsIt was another goalfest for the reserves this week with a comfortable away win for Dom Moody’s men. Although conceding 3, a hattrick from Matt Wilson, two from Andy Wiltshire and one from someone else?? (emails to fenstantonfooballclub@gmail.com please) meant that Fenstanton came away with all three points. West Row Gunners Res 0 - 5 Fenstanton ResSeptember 9, 2007 on 6:53 pm | In Reserve Team Match Reports | No CommentsFenstanton Res lie 2nd in Division 4B following a five goal win in their first game of the season. Doubles from Matt Wilson and Ian Wood plus a well taken goal from Matt Boyd put the game well out of reach for the home team. FriendliesAugust 24, 2007 on 10:55 pm | In Reserve Team Match Reports, 1st Team Match Reports | No CommentsBoth teams were in action this week with pre-season friendlies. The first team started off with a physical encounter with Girton Reserves, a game which they lost 2-1 after a poor spell in the first half. Barry Denston popped up with a poachers goal at the near post which capped a far better second half performance. Two days later the boys were back in action against old rivals Needingworth Reserves. Again, a poor start meant that Fenstanton went into the break one nil down. A great twenty minute spell in the second half was rewarded when a Needingworth defender slid the ball past his own oncoming ‘keeper to level the score. This was followed by a neat finish by Craig Brodie who beat the ‘keeper after being released into the box. Fenstanton Reserves got a wake up call after a first half performance to be ashamed of away at Bar Hill. The boys found themselves going into the break with heads down at four nil. The second half was a complete turnaround, with Salvatori and Dan ‘Denzel’ Berril causing havoc down each wing. Woody also sprung into life and began to create openings. It was a Woody corner that was cruelly flicked past his own ‘keeper by the Bar Hill defender to start the turnaround for Fenstanton. Stand-in striker, Steve Lee then brought the deficit to two by riding a challenge from the last man before firing a low shot past the ‘keepers outstretched right hand. Steve Lee then became creator after being released down the left by Woody, before slotting a low cross wide to Dave Adams who shot crisply under the ‘keeper. The game finished 4-3 but with Fenstanton taking a lot of heart from a much better second half performance. |
